Testimonials

I just wanted to tell you thank you soooo much for helping me with breastfeeding!  You are wonderful!  It is such a blessing to know someone so kind and knowledgeable as you to help.  After having mastitis 3 times in three months, I knew something was wrong.  After you telling me that I had too much milk, I then realized that seemed to be the problem.  I did many of the things you suggested: soy lecithin, sage, peppermint, emptying out one side before offering the other, waiting longer between feedings, and lying down to feed because my let down is so forceful.  All of these things have helped me so much.  For the past week, I have not felt too full at all.  She is emptying me out beautifully.  Lisa is no longer as fussy, and she hasn’t spit up in a few days either!  She’s getting used to the world, and I’m enjoying my “honeymoon with my new baby.”

Thanks for all of your advice!  I wish everyone had you to talk to while they are breastfeeding.  God bless you!
-From a thankful mom in Pacific Grove

My son Alexander just turned 8 months and I am still breastfeeding! What a joy!
What's the big deal one may ask...Well Alexander was born 3 weeks before his due date and he did not want to nurse much at the beginning. As a result, instead of gaining weight, he was losing weight. My doctor gave me Sonja’s phone number and I call her, crying, the very minute I walked out of the doctor’s office. I had seen her name several places but it had never crossed my mind that I would have problems with breastfeeding. It always looked like such an easy and peaceful process. To breastfeed was one of my deepest desires. Needless to say, I was one stressed out, sleep deprived and very very concerned mom...
Thanks to Sonja and Robin's expert and loving advice, I was able to master the art of breastfeeding in a couple of weeks and feed my baby what's best for him. Then when he was 6 weeks old I had to go back to work and most people were telling me to kiss breastfeeding good bye, or at least exclusive breastfeeding. Alexander is 8 months old and he is exclusively breast fed!!! Just this past Tuesday I went to our support group for working moms and was a little bit down because my milk had been low for a few weeks and I wasn't able to bring it up. I though it was time now to say good bye and buy some formula... However, Sonja had a suggestion to me and now my milk is up again and both my baby and I are a happy couple again! He has been experimenting with solids lately and thanks to what I learned at the Super Baby food class with Sonja and Suzi I've been feeding Alexander a balanced and home-made diet with very little effort.
Thank you again and again for your help and support - you are priceless!

Sonja Massey was a caring and knowledgeable support for me and my baby. My daughter took to nursing quickly but the many different opinions and advice got confusing in those first weeks. Should she nurse 15 minutes or as long as she liked? Should she use a pacifier in the early days or not? Sonja listened and gave wonderful advice backed by research. Later, when I returned to work, Sonja supported my continued nursing. When my milk supply started to go down, she had lots of ideas to help me and my baby get through the first six months. She loves babies and is committed to healthy families. My daughter is now a strong, healthy two year old. We both appreciate all that Sonja did for us.
